Getting real about go-to-market strategies and what it takes to make it on the world stage.

We gathered a small group of fifteen GTM leaders and AI operators at Non Solo Pizza's private To Kalon Room in Auckland for an intimate night of real conversation about go-to-market strategies. What truly worked for them, and what they learned from what didn’t.

The evening first started by reflecting on how teams were actually implementing AI in their go-to-market approach. Exploring what's delivering real ROI versus what hasn't earned its seat at the table, and where AI is starting to reshape hiring, team structure and the GTM role itself.

From there, it turned to scaling GTM from New Zealand to global markets which strategies translate well internationally and which don't, and the operator's lens on early-stage growth, from founder-led sales through to building repeatable revenue when the ICP is still shifting.

What made the night special was the generosity of operators from across the Movac portfolio and the wider ecosystem in giving their time and sharing real-world experience to help each other grow. Toby Sharp called it "a great event," while Lani Wardrop said the relaxed dinner format "made it a lot easier to really talk to people and share information and knowledge”.

A big thanks to Byron van Vugt and Dulan Perera for bringing this group together. More operator dinners are on the way, watch this space.
